I've been looking for a replacement for my aging 5 qt. nonstick pot for awhile now, didn't want another nonstick but all on my list were too pricey or too heavy. This pot was $42 including s&h. It's replaced my old 5 qt. plus the additional capacity will enable me to do more with it. Made black-eyed peas for New Year's over the weekend, came out great and clean up was a breeze with a little Bar Keeper's Friend. One thing to remember: to avoid exterior discoloration, you need to keep the heat at medium or lower, which I find more than adequate for most dishes. For smokin' hot, get out your cast iron or aluminum skillets. For braising or boiling, this works great. Just factor in a little extra time and you're all set.
