Customer Review: Served us well for more than 7 years

We've used this combined blender/food processor consistently for smoothies, making spreads and dips for about 7 years with no problem. We used the food processor less frequently because the bowl is small, only about 3 cups, so we never developed the dependency on it, we just hand grated and used our mandolin.When we did use it to process, we made nut/seed spreads, dips, and things like lentil, sunflower seed burgers, it worked well. But we got tired of needing to process in small batches. Now that we have both a Vitamix blender and a new larger food processor we're giving this one away, and we're sorry to see it go. It is so well made, cleverly assembled, it covers so many tasks, slicing, shredding, chopping. We took the blender on trips because it is very light weight, and it allowed us to make morning smoothies on the road. Probably the only reason we're giving it 4 stars is that it is noisy, and the food processor is at least a cup too small. I'm sorry to read that the blender broke so often for other users. Our blender was used a lot over the past years and it is still working well.

It crushes ice, chops raw and cooked foods, including meats to any consistency, as well as blending drinks, soups and more. In this sleek Italian design the collar works with the motor base to provide power at the correct speed for slicing, shredding or chopping.Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to pur?e baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.
This is an amazingly sturdy product, with tight fitting lids, a heavy glass blender jar, and a motor that chops meats or ice with equal aplomb. Most attachments go in the dishwasher, and the flat touch pad, which has seven settings, including "ice crush" and "pulse," is easily wiped down with a sponge. This dual appliance comes with a booklet detailing how to use all the features, and 48 recipes, from cranberry-orange mimosas to classic mayonnaise. --Maria Dolan
