Customer Review: 7+ years later and it still performs!

I am a bit stumped on several of the reviews on this bar blender. Were these made better 7+ years ago, was mine from a different batch or what? I don't know. All I can say is this is the best blender I have used.
Several years ago, I purchased this blender at Dillard's, shortly after getting my first KA Stand Mixer. I was able to have the sales person plug it in for me to test it out first... to see that it worked and how the motor sounded. --It was the last of the Cuisinart CBT-500/CBT-500C blenders left and a display model. I was a bit hesitant at first, since I've never purchased a display model before! After hearing the motor run, I was quite pleased. The sales person was able to locate the box and manual as well. So, this was another plus, which many display models don't have. At the time, the blender was still a bit pricey, and I received something like 10% off, since it was a display. --Not bad.
Through these years (over 7), This blender has been used for smoothies, milk shakes, slushy mixed drinks, protein shakes, iced coffee, crushing ice, sauces (the booklet does tell you not to put boiling hot liquids in, and to allow tempurature to drop to a certain point), even pancake mix and liquifying soups. It gets used much more in the summer/spring than winter/fall though, especially since the huskies (our fur children) also love smoothies (organic yogurt and berries) during the hotter months. We're a family of six (3 people and 3 siberian huskies).
This blender is a bit louder than some; yet for the power it produces and how quickly it does it's job, I don't mind...the rest of the family doesn't seem to mind either. It's also quite heavy for a blender, but this keeps the blender in a sturdy position, while being used.
The lid fits nice and snug, while the center cap is easily removable with a twist. The blender jar could have a more defined spout, but I have had no issues with spilling. The design is very nice and won't look tacky if left on the counter. Although the instructions say the blender jar and lid are dishwasher safe, I wouldn't recommend doing so. I have put mine through the dishwasher and they are fine, but I prefer handwashing. All of the parts clean very easily.
I also love the simplicity of this blender. Ice Crush, does exactly that...it crushes up ice and even frozen berries very well. Pulse is nice for when you want to be more in control. Then you have high and low speed settings, and these are perfect for all the uses we have for this blender. Then, of course, you have on and off. I don't care about having 10 different speeds on a counter top blender, since my stand mixer, stick blender and food processor have these; for the jobs that I'd truly need such performance in speed.
I've owned and used many other counter top blenders, including KitchenAid, Hamilton Beach & Oster. This is the best blender I've tried. 600 watts is perfect for this family's needs, and this Cuisinart hasn't let us down.
