I've purchased at least 4 previous openers only to have them continue running after the opener opens the can...only way to stop it is pull the plug. this Cuisnart I've put to the test and it is wonderful....only time will tell...the other 4 previous openers did their continuous running about a week or two after purchase.
I'm happy so far.
