I got one of these as a gift recently. I have since used it as an excuse to blend EVERYTHING! I have made several batches of soups and gravy's with this, including lentil and potato soup. its quiet, surprisingly light, and absolutely effective. I haven't tried blending anything frozen with it, yet. The metal shaft makes for super easy clean up. the thing seems really durable.
Generally I'm a Kitchenaid groupy, however their comparable stick has crappy reviews, and parts problems. Cuisinart does make a lot of really quality machines, and since its a a good brand you can buy replacement blades and such for it. I never buy anything I cant buy replacement parts for, due to extreme blend a thons those blades wont last forever, but you hope the motors will! I love it so much I'm buying one for my mother!
