I had purchased an electric skillet locally for around $45 and thought I was getting a decent product HOWEVER on the very first use the meal stuck to the supposedly non-stick surface. After using it off and on for a few months decided it was time for another one. I am SO glad I found this on Amazon. I know it's a little pricy as skillets go but it was well worth the investment. I used it the same day I received it and was not dissapointed. This is a quality product with substantial weight. It cooks beautifully... non-stick REALLY means non-stick with this gem. As others have stated, the center of the cooking surface is slightly raised but that didn't present any particular problems. I am sure this is a skillet that will have a long and useful life in our kitchen.
