With the shipping, these filters, which are just a tiny pouch of charcoal, are over $3 each. If your water is really bad, I guess you might prefer to pay this for a tablespoon of charcoal in a paper bag. It's hard for me to believe that some of the stores that sell Cuisinart coffee makers don't carry the charcoal filters. When I have found them they are 'over the top' expensive.
