After watching many cooking shows on t.v., and seeing the ease that the professional cooks used the Cuisinart product, I reached into the wallet and made this purchase. When food processors first came out, I got one back in the very early 80's. It was a no name brand and I totally gave it a great beating which it took without problems or complaint. How I mourned its lost when I finally burned out the motor. I purchased the Cuisinart in March '05 and have waited, wanting to really use it before posting a review. Well, its passed its test. It's taking a beating like my previous no name machine. And the added bonus is that this comes with an assortment of blades, which I have used, and come to love. This model comes only with the big feed tube top, and before I even managed to use the machine the very first time, had misplaced the manual. Cuisinart mailed me a manual, and for a small fee, sold me a flat top. The processor is a breeze to use, easy to clean, stays put on the counter while processing. Looking forward to years of use with this.
Description of Cuisinart DFP-11 Deluxe 11-Cup Capacity Food Processor
This product is a Food Processor AND Mixer in 1. This is easy-to-use use appliance kneads, slices, shreds, chops, mixes, and purees with unsurpassed precision for professional results.Equipped with an 11-cup work bowl that includes both extra-large (4-5/8-inch oval) and small feed tubes, powered by 625 watts, and accompanied by slicing and shredding discs, this big food processor is ideal for nearly all households. It kneads 2-1/2 pounds of bread dough in two minutes, chops 1-1/2 pounds of meat, emulsifies a perfect mayonnaise or salad dressing, and chops, slices, or shreds vegetables, nuts, cheese, and bread crumbs. The plastic work bowl is shatterproof and resists both heat and cold. One fingertip control turns the processor on and off and another pulses for precise work. All parts go safely into the dishwasher. With the work bowl in place, the processor measures 14-1/2 inches high, 7 inches wide, and 10 inches deep. It carries a five-year warranty against motor defects and a three-year warranty against other defects. A stiff plastic spatula for cleaning out the bowl and an instruction/recipe video come with the processor. --Fred Brack
