Overall I love this product. I have had the Foreman for years and this one is better. Besides the handy removable grill plates, the grill has deep groves which helps drain off the fat and/or marinades which leaves nice grill marks. I always had issues with the Forman not giving me that "grilled" satisfaction. The adjustable heat setting is also a nice feature. I dont think the upgraded version with the three knobs is necessary. This does a great job with one knob.
Why not 5stars? well, the drip tray is useless. If its not PERFECTLY postioned, it just drips down the side of the grill. The cup should have been taller the spout longer.

I purchased this item yesterday, received it today (thanks AmazonPrime) and just whipped up some turkey panini sandwiches in no time or effort. The best thing about this grill is that both top & bottom plates are easily removable & dishwasher safe.
Although the description mentions 3 cooking options, all of them use the same surface--with the grill marks--not as if you can turn over the plates over for a smooth side.
I think the grill marks not only look good, but create an alternating soft & crunchy texture to the bread that I like.
I haven't used it to grill burgers, etc. that create a lot of grease, so I can't say about the mess that might make. I noticed if you stack the two "grease cups" on top of each other that they are right below the grease drains, so I don't think it would make a mess at all.
Note--as another reviewer mentioned--the Amazon list price of $145 is a bunch of baloney as the Cuisinart website list price is $79.9, so you can probably get it cheaper with 20% off coupon at your local bath store. (Wish I'd thought of that sooner.)

This is a fabulous little grill. Very small, just right for one or two. Looks good on the countertop. Cleans up in a flash, cooks very quickly. So very easy to use. I have always tolerated the grills I have had before as somewhat useful cooking items, this one I fell in love with. No complaints from me. I use it several times a week. I bought this item after reviewing several others. I wanted a panini maker that had removable plates for cleaning. For the price, I am quite happy with the purchase. I made panini sandwiches once and they came out well. Didn't read the manual but my guess is the green light is ON when the temp (low, med, high) has reached to the setting. I thought it was for when the sandwich is done LOL! All in all, happy with the purchase so far...Customer Review: Love this griddle!

I thought about buying one of the griddles currently being sold on an infomercial. However the reviews were awful. I started researching alternatives and found this griddle. I love it and have used it several times per week since getting it. It is high quality and has removable plates for easy clean up. The purchase price was great and the griddle is even better!
