I purchased the 10 piece set, which was not covered with a protective film. I find these pots and pans very easy to clean and the copper hasn't tarnished...yet.
Copper will oxidize but if it oxidizes unevenly it can be unsightly. One thing I have found that's very important to keeping the pots and pans looking good is that they must be dried immediately after washing. Usually I handwash them but I have put them in the dishwasher, however they must be removed before the drying cycle starts and dried by hand.
To clean them I use a pH neutral soap and a Good Grips scrubby brush.
They are much easier to clean than the non-stick pots and pans I've had in the past. They cook better and they look better, too. I'm very happy with this product.

The slope-sided 10-inch skillet is ideal for frying, sautéing, and pan-roasting. The 2-quart saucepan (6-7/8 inches in diameter, 3-3/4 inches high) is a kitchen workhorse. The stockpot and pans have 18/10 stainless-steel, mirror-finish, tight-fitting lids.
