Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Cuisinart PSC-400 4 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker, Brushed Stainless SteelCustomer Review: Sent it back Summary: 1 StarsI chose this crockpot because it looked cool, was a smaller size, and was programmable. The first time I used it, the lid rattled ALOT and water spurted out the side. So, when I am home, it will drive me nuts with the rattling, and when I'm not home, it will make a nice pool of water all over my counter. No thanks. I sent it back. Unfortunately, it seems most crockpots these days are made this way, with a glass lid that just sits on top and allows for these things to happen.
My dinner did turn out good though, so if you don't care about these problems, it might be an OK choice.
Customer Review: Slow Cooker Summary: 5 StarsMy Cuisinart Slow Cooker is wonderful as well as beautiful. I'd recommend this item to anyone.
Customer Review: Great for a family with two working parents! Summary: 5 StarsMy wife and I do not have time to cook meals, but we do not want to eat out all the time. We have a small family of three and this slow cooker has made it easy to enjoy a home-cooked meal without taking all the time that traditional cooking does. We love it! We have used it quite a bit already and have not experienced any problems at all. We love the fact that it automatically switches to warm for those days that we both get caught up at work!
Customer Review: Perfect for two! Summary: 5 StarsWe are empty nesters and I generally don't slow cook for company, so this is the perfect slow cooker for the two of us. Looks great and I love the retractable cord! Very easy to use.
Customer Review: Flawed after all Summary: 4 StarsI was anticipating the fake chrome handles on the body of the appliance(thanks to some reviews read here), but I was not expecting a fake chrome handle on the lid. Even if I had known it were fake, I would not have expected the fake chrome finish to bubble and peel off after just 2 uses (and gentle handwashing too!!!). This is a huge disappointment in quality.
Unlike some others, I have no complaints about rattling lids, or settings being too hot ... all that works great in my case, and I've been very satisfied performance-wise.
Cuisinart really cheaped out on that junk lid though. Maybe the quality of the lid in general is related to some of those complaints people have about the rattling lid?

If Cuisinart can do the honorable thing to rectify my defective lid, I will come back here to post the redeeming news and retract my lambasting comments. In the meantime, I plan to make a lot of noise on all the websites where I can, seeing as I am so disgusted with their hands-off attitude towards their own product integrity.
