Hello every one,
For some reason I don't usually do reviews but I feel like this is the moment.... And I want to put my 2c in here...
I know the question "Cusinart or KitchenAid?" is still in your head and I am among the top 5 fans of Kitchen Aid.... but I bought a Cusinart mixer...
I was a proud owner of a KA Professional, 6 qt.... the best of the best... for years like my mom and dad and grandma and grandpa and gran gran gran parents for centuries we've been using KitchenAid.... that name was well imprinted in our brain... so strong... man... was so strong imprinted that even when my KitchenAid mixer's axis broke and cut my hand I was still out there to buy another KitcheAid....
To start with, customer service for KA is a BS.... now I was there in the store looking at all thsoe KA models and ready to choose... I think an Artisan... but I noticed the motor was not strong enough so I came home and did a little bit of research.... here pops the Cusinart... so I was wondering.... will that Cusinart be able to take all the abuse? I mean... I have to feed a small nation... that means endless hours of dough, whole wheat bread, pasta, cookies, cakes, crackers, you name it... yes, waffles and meatloaf too! So I was researching the web and here what I put down on my comparison chart... maybe this will help you guys....
KitchenAid:
-Warranty only 1 year, they won't do anything to help
-Pricey... very pricey if you go top of the line and believe me you have to for bread dough...
-My meat grinder+sausage attach is good for nothing and KA admitted they are not fast and the sausage one doesn't work....
-If you have to make a cake or cupcakes you have to scrape the bowl several times no matter how you adjust the beater
-after 2-3 times of heavy duty whole wheat dough you hear a weird noise and that tells you something is wrong and things are not in place anymore or they are made out of plastic and it's just a matter of time until the final work....
But let's don't forget... KitcheAid is present almost in every american kitchen, you see it in every movie that has a kitchen scene... whatever cooking show...there it is....
OK... let's go to Cusinart now....
-2x powerful motor,
-5x the warranty
-way better looking and ergonomic
-they don't play with the customers like KitchenAid:"let's make it cheap out of plastic because the idiots won't notice" and than "let's make it out of metal because they are not so idiots..." and now I am sure they are in the phase "let's do nothing because they are so used with the name they won't buy anything else...."
-and the price is right...even more if you get it on sale!
-mixes everything perfect without bowl scarping
-easy to remove bowl... and for this purpose I invite you to remove a bowl from a KA after whole wheat dough....
And I said to myself... maybe these machines are not quiet intended for bread dough but Cusinart does it better, has more warranty and the makers are not playing with customers money and nerves. And the popularity... KitchenAid in every kitchen and movie... guys... get real... down to Earth it's just a commercial thing and the cheap price because they are making them cheaper and cheaper with worst materials... let me ask you something, do you know a Hobart is better than all KitcheAids and Cusinart? And still you don't see them everywhere... and I'm sure that price of $3000 has something to do with its popularity in every home... so when you go out there for shopping... just pick the Cusinart... it may fail and broke and fall apart just like KitchenAid but at least you have warranty on it... so you don't waste your money....
