Customer Review: Horrible blender, terrible customer service

I have owned two of these blenders and within 6 months of having each, the clutch assembly shredded. After the issue happened with the first, I had not retained the info on the purchase so couldn't return the product. I bought a second (same model) and the same issue happened within a few months. Upon contacting Cuisinart customer service, I received a "blanket" type response stating that the blender needed a new clutch and I could purchase one and install it myself. I reiterated the fact that this was the second blender where the same issue had taken place and pressed upon the fact that it was obviously a common design flaw. I was once again directed to purchase the clutch assembly and install myself. I will never buy another Cuisinart product! Seems the reviews here echo the same.

Cuisinart continues to outshine the competition! The lustrous finish of the new Black Chrome Series is reminiscent of rich, dark, liquid silver. It's unique, elegant, and perfect way to dress up even the most sophisticated kitchens.With a 350-watt motor to easily crush ice and touch-pad controls offering seven speeds, including pulse, this blender not only creates frosty cocktails, smoothies, ice-cream shakes, and other drinks, but also mixes smooth soups and sauces, chops bread crumbs and nuts, grinds hard cheeses, emulsifies salad dressings, and produces party dips. (Recipes included.) The 5-cup glass container and the heavy base (made of plastic but resembling brushed chrome) spell durability and look great on bar or counter. Fully assembled, the blender stands 15 inches high, and its oblong base measures 8-1/4 inches deep. The glass container, plastic lid with its 2-ounce measuring insert, and stainless-steel blade are dishwasher-safe. The blender carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
