My Two-to-Go was starting to dribble and drool after at least a year of heavy use. I do the vinegar and water clean out once a month. Still, I thought perhaps it was "fixin' to" call it quits.
I pulled the back-up two cupper out (different brand), plugged it in, ran some water through it, fiddled with a bunch of controls, made a cup of coffee in the left hand cup, unplugged it, and emptied the left hand basket of grounds. By this time I started to think that this 'other brand' coffee maker was sort of a hassle with two seperate coffee filters -one on the left and one on the right, switches to indicate whether you're making one or two cups of coffee, and on and on. And ... it made an okay, but not really good, cup of coffee.
While I was drinking that cup of coffee, I was looking at my Two-to-Go rather longingly. Then my eye was drawn to the underside of the water reservoir. Hmmm... mineral deposits where the vinegar and water treatment would never reach.
While finishing the cup of coffee from the "Brand X" model, I took some cottton balls and swabs to those nooks and crannies on the Cuisinart. I next removed "Brand X" from the coffee maker place on my counter, returned the Two-to-Go back to the spot, fired it up and ... voila - no dribble or drolls -just the great cup of coffee I've come to appreciate.
Bottom line. In addition to the above "Brand X", I've tried other one and two cuppers over the years and, in my experience, the Cuisinart Two-to-Go is definitely Best in Its Class! A winner.
OK - SO ANOTHER YEAR GOES BY ... time to purchase another Cuisinart Two To Go. But wait -not at $79.99 (double what I paid for my last one). I'll find another, more reasonably priced brand and learn to love it.
