Customer Review: Reconditioned Is Better Than New

I read all the reviews of this blender prior to purchase. The burning "black thing" defect seems to occur on the new units. Regardless of the potential for stinky disaster, my wife and I decided to purchase the reconditioned model because [price] for a decent blender is too cheap to pass up and we also needed the extra amount to bring our order up for free shipping.
I am glad I chose this reconditioned blender because it works great. We have only used it for light duty but so far it has been an awesome purchase (knock wood).
I am giving this 5 stars because the price was RIGHT. Also, I want to balance out the negative comments that almost convinced me not by the blender.

This very smart and versatile SmartPower? 7-Speed Electronic Blender has enough power and speeds to do it all.This SmartPower blender by Cuisinart has all the qualities of a great blender. It's powerful, easy to use, sturdy, and efficient. You can press on the tight-fitting cover without turning or twisting it into place, and we found it didn't leak even under heavy use. The 2-ounce pour lid allows you to measure and add ingredients neatly without removing the cover. The 40-ounce glass jar has a wide mouth, allowing you to pour chunky ingredients. The locking ring is self-aligning, so the glass blender jar slides easily into position, and the leakproof rubber gasket holds the glass jar snugly in place for safe operation.
High-quality, patented, stainless-steel blades are strong enough for all bar blender tasks, from crushing ice to puréeing fruit.
